We hope you had a great week. Our was like a roller coaster with many ups and downs.
UPS:: Jessie’s MRI report showed that her tumors were stable. Jessie is eating again after 4 months of liquid diet. This is such a praise. She just decided to eat and has not stopped=). We thank God for giving her the confidence to “try”. Now we just need to make sure she is eating a healthy balance of foods…she has always loved “sweets”. Christmas is a tough time for anyone that likes a few goodies. The other praise is Jessie’s headaches have not returned even after being on a very reduced amount of meds. Lastly, we are thankful that Jessie’s hair is growing back. This helps her feel a little bit normal again.
DOWNS:: Jessie’s MRI report also showed she still had swelling in her cerebellum. The other down is we have to decide how to make our trip to Denver for Christmas as safe as possible for Jessie. The docs are concerned about the altitude so we are taking extra oxygen and meds. The other downer was realzing that last round of radiation made Jessie lose her hearing completly in her right ear. We had hoped this would come back but it won’t. So now she fight not being able to see well and hear well…so much for a 12 year old. She is so tough.
Prayers…please pray for Jessie’s chemo treatment on Tuesday at 9am…pray that it goes well, limited pain and nothing new happens. Pray for our trip to Denver that everything goes great and Jessie has no issues with the take off, decent or being at altitude. Thankfully there is a great children’s hospital there.
Thanks again for all of your posts, prayers and support. We are so blessed to have you in our lives.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
