Merry Christmas Friends & Fans!
We truly hope your day was filled with love, joy, peace and family. Our day started about 3 am when Jessie woke us up complaining of knee pain. This was a new issue for her so we tried encouraging her to sleep but it didn’t work…this was a new level of pain that she had not had before. So we spent the next several hours rubbing her knees and trying to give her medication to ease her condition. One of the hardest things for us is watching our little girl be in pain and not be able to stop it. Thankfully, the meds finally worked and we had a very enjoyable Christmas with nana, papa, aunt kimmy, uncle T and our crew. We have had a wonderful time in Denver enjoying snow, shopping and creating special memories.
Jessie is still on her steroids and other meds. We hope to take her off of them soon. Thanks for your constant prayers. We need a miracle from above so that fact you usher her name to God on a daily basis for her/us is very humbling. We truly don’t know what we would do with out all of your posts and prayers. They keep us all going. As you might of saw in one of the photos posted today…Jessie is getting a little hair back….such a cutie pie! The right side of her face is still not listening to her requests and she can’t hear out of her right ear, but she still fights with an amazing attitude. The is a true model of NEGU!
A big praise is we have not needed the oxygen the doctors requested us to have. Thankfully we were able to get some here after dealing with the airlines on the way out and their unwillingness to let us take what we had on the plane. Talk about a massive scramble prior to boarding. Love those last minute boardings with kids…not!
Thank you all for helping Jessie reach her 50:50 goal. She is over half way. It would be so great if she had a fan for every kid fighting cancer in hospitals today, which is over 50,000. 41 kids learned today they had cancer…such a tragedy. Christmas will never be the same for them.
We truly wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Much love,
Erik & Stacey Rees
PS: For all of Jessie’s new fans…this is our weekly blog post. Jessie posted a daily blog for over 200 days straight but has chosen to use Facebook as your primary way of communicating, which we fully support.
